Connecticut Gluten Free Potluck Dinner

Ok, so I was on facebook a few minutes ago and found the coolest event! A gluten free potluck dinner!! It's November 2nd at the Community Baptist Church in Manchester and it's sponsored by the Celiac Support Group of Central and Eastern Connecticut. RSVP is October 25th. Check out the link for all the information!

Van's Gluten Free Waffles

As much as I love homemade gluten free waffles and pancakes, sometimes (which is most of the time) I don't have the time to make them. Thank goodness for Van's GF products! Just pop them in the toaster oven or toaster and voila! Both the panackes and waffles are delicious but I think the waffles are my favorite. Looking for a way to jazz up your breakfast? My mom's friend's 4 year old daughther saw me eating these with peanut butter and some blueberries on the side and suggested that I put the blueberries on the waffles and believe it or not it was very good! Hope you like these as much as I do!

Bob's Redmill

I love pizza, and when I found out I had to eat gluten free, I thought I was never going to be able to eat pizza again, and needless to say I was not happy. That was until I my boyfriend and dad discovered Bob's Red Mill. I was skeptical at first, but it was delicious! If no one told me, I would have thought it was real pizza dough. You can find Bob's Red Mill at stores like Whole Foods, but I usually buy it from Ocean State Job Lot because it costs less. Bob's Red Mill also makes bread, cookie and cake mixes and even gluten free flour (which I use to make pancakes! So yummy!) I've also tried the gluten free chocolate chip cookie mix and it tastes just like regular chocolate chip cookies! Go pick up some Bob's Red Mill and start baking!

Dee's One Smart Cookie

I'm sure that anyone with a gluten allergy will agree that there are many gf items that do not taste very good. In my opinion, giving up things like cookies, cupcakes and other sweet treats was one of the hardest parts of living gluten free, but thanks to a wonderful little bakery in Glastonbury, CT you can remain gluten free while enjoying yummy treats that actually taste good! She makes many of the same items that you would find in a regular bakery, except everything (and I do mean everything) is gluten AND dairy free! Everything is baked fresh every day and the food is out of this world. You can find things like bread, muffins, cupcakes, brownies, even pizza! My personal favorites are the chocolate cupcakes and biscotti. She even makes birthday cakes! Be sure to check out this wonderful little bakery so you can once again enjoy all the delicious items you thought you had to give up.
